The functionality of this solution is divided
into the following categories:
- Capture. The capture of content is
provided by the Alero Capture application or
by a third party vendor. Alero provides some
interfaces to best of breed solutions, or
customers can also choose any solution of
preference. The capture process consists of
one or more of the following functions: single or batch
scanning, OCR/ICR, forms recognition,
barcode recognition, image cleanup,
indexing, validation, QA, etc.
- Content Management. The management of
content is provided by the Alero Document
Imaging solution. It supports indexing,
storing, searching, retrieving, viewing, foldering,
properties, printing, faxing, exporting, importing,
delivering, publishing, and many
other content functions.
- Document Management. The management of
documents is provided by the Alero Document
Management solution. It supports a full
range of library services, including version control,
check-out/check-in, audit, and revision
history.
- Storage Management. The storage of content is
provided by the Alero Content Storage
Management solution. It is based on Life
Cycle profiles, which define the life of
each document in the system from its
creation up to its destruction. These life
cycle profiles define the number of copies
per document and the storage/device, location, and
retention to use per copy. It also supports functions like migration,
caching, domain, proximity, and throttling.
Storage management is an administration-free
task with this solution. The following
devices are supported: disk,
RAID, libraries (DVD/Optical), EMC Centera CAS, and Hitachi
HCAP.
- Process Management. The management of
processes is
provided by the Alero Business Process
Management solution. It supports sequential,
parallel, conditional, loops and data
rendezvous; invoking applications and
sub-processes; data and time conditions;
deadlines, absentee and delegation,
notification by E-mail, forms, events using
Java scripting, pre and post activity
processing, complete audit and trail, and
eight levels of exceptions.
- Content Integration. The integration of
content is provided by the Alero Enterprise
Content Integration solution. It supports
indexing, storing, searching, retrieving,
viewing, foldering,
properties, printing, faxing, exporting, importing, delivering, publishing, and many
other content functions. In addition, it supports a full
range of library services, including version control,
check-out/check-in, audit, and revision
history.
- Information Integration. The integration of
information is provided by the Alero Enterprise
Information Integration solution. It supports
adding, searching, retrieving, viewing, foldering,
modifying, deleting, properties, printing, faxing, delivering,
and many other information functions.
- Virtualization. The virtualization of
information is provided by the Alero
Enterprise Virtualization solution. It supports
discovery, federated searches and integrated
views of information. It also supports searching, retrieving, viewing, foldering,
modifying, deleting, properties, printing, faxing, delivering,
and many other information functions.
- Signature Management. The management of
signatures is
provided by the Alero Electronic Signature
Management solution. It allows signing,
authenticating, security, encrypting,
enforcing, and verifying information.
